…. perhaps you’d never again have a negative one!!

What does it mean to your success? To your relationships? To your health?
| Anthony Robbins – … |
It’s mindfulness, simply put, and comes down to allowing yourself to be in this moment. Not the moment yesterday when you should have stood up to your obnoxious and overly competitive colleague; or the moment last week when you got the call from the bank telling you your account was overdrawn. Nor is it the moment at some point in the future when you need to come up with some way to make your rent or credit card payment.
When one is truly mindful, the past and future dissolve away, where all that is taking up space in the consciousness is what is occurring now. It is not contaminated by thoughts of what this moment should be, or what isn’t. At the very least, in a state of mindfulness, one just is, but more likely when someone is truly mindful, one is also very conscious of his or her own intense gratitude for this moment and whatever is going on in it. This profound sense of focused appreciation, to whomever or whatever resonates, allows for a strong, positive influence over the Law of Attraction.
Conversely, a fixation on what isn’t or what was or what shouldn’t be, what should have been or what will never be exerts just the opposite influence over the Law of Attraction. Whatever is wrong, uncomfortable and unsatisfying in your life not only continues to be so, but an attitude of persistent negativity, doubt and fear serves only to perpetuate itself, as do the circumstances over which they prevail.
We all have had moments when we are present, or mindful. It is as though there is a wonderful connection to that which is good in our lives and often we feel a great sense of control, joy and love for our lives and the people in it. We’ve got that “world by the tail” sort of feeling. The problem is, we often attribute these feelings to external influences: things going well at work; a promotion; a good day with the kids; good weather; and all too often, these feelings can be short-lived and are easily turned around on themselves by their opposite: a disagreement with the boss; whiny kids; a cold, rainy day; the negative external influences.
Why? Because we don’t see the control we have over our feelings, perceptions and ultimately, our circumstances. For better or for worse. We allow ourselves to be tossed, willy-nilly, governed by the events of our past, the events of the day or anxieties about the future. Be sure that the Law of Attraction responds regardless the sentiment. We consistently, most often unconsciously, wield enormous power over our own lives. It is our predominant thoughts and perceptions that continuously determine what it is we will attract. Without fail.
A practice of mindfulness, and more specifically, a practice of mindful gratitude and appreciation for the present moment, allows us to better understand the power we have over our own lives and the Law of Attraction. Where there is mindfulness, there is constructive, positive control where good is attracted rather than bad.
With a habit of mindfulness we see evidence everyday of our power to create positive difference, in our relationships, our professions, our finances. When you are able to exist in this moment, regardless of what is going on in your life; and you are capable of feeling sincere and unadulterated gratitude and appreciation for what you have, in the here and now, that you connect positively with the Law of Attraction to create a life you love.
Edited to add: I write this as much as a reminder to myself… as to my two loyal readers….
